To ensure better connectivity for nearly 500 employees working at Infopark in Koratty, the Kerala Urban Road Transport Corporation (KURTC) has launched an A/C low-floor bus service between the state-run IT park and Thrissur.
The service was officially flagged off by Chalakkudy MLA B D Devassy from Infopark premises on Tuesday before a large crowd of IT employees in the presence of Infopark Chief Executive Officer Hrishikesh Nair and Koratty Grama Panchayat President Manesh Sebastian. The bus will operate seven days a week, one service in the morning and another in the evening. As per the latest schedule, the bus will reach Infopark at 9 am and depart at 5 pm.
“A bus service from Infopark was one of the major demands put forward by us from the time Infopark was
established. The new bus service is part of our efforts to develop the infrastructure facilities in Koratty, aiding the growth of the town as a major IT destination,” said Shri Devassy who was instrumental in starting the bus service. “I thank Shri Devassy on behalf of Infopark for extending the bus service to Infopark for the benefit of the employees here,” Shri Hrishikesh Nair said. “Once the new IT block of 3 lakh sq ft becomes ready for operations, the employee strength will increase to around 3,000. We are hopeful of getting more bus services in the future to cater to the needs of the growing number of IT professionals here,” he added.
