In order to turn angel investors to support young entrepreneurs, the Kerala Government will try and motivate successful entrepreneurs. The idea of providing angle fund by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) to young entrepreneurs will be useful as an initial capital for them. Doyens of industries will be asked to handhold and support them with advisory services, an official spokesman said. Along with this the KSIDC also will provide value-added services to new entrepreneurs along with advisory services and market linkages. It will tie up with industry bodies such as TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and the Technopark Business Incubator (TBI).These initiatives come on the eve of the Young Entrepreneurs Summit (YES) to be hosted by the State Government and the KSIDC in Kochi on September 12, Kerala Entrepreneurship Day.
The key initiative of summit is to push the young entrepreneur start-up programme, a key initiative identified under the Mission 676 action plan of the State Government. Partners for the event include Infopark-Kochi; Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation; TBI; Startup Village, Kochi; TiE; and CII. The summit aims at fostering the growth of entrepreneurship in young minds and creating an enabling environment for start-ups in the State across all sectors. The event will showcase the existing facilities and support services available to prospective young entrepreneurs to realise their dreams.
